Platelet-Rich Plasma: PRP Injections

PRP stands for platelet-rich plasma which is a substance produced within the human body’s blood. PRP contains a variety of growth factors and platelets which, when combined, are essential in providing the body what it needs to heal after an injury.

PRP injections are mainly used to aid in the healing of injured muscles, joints, tendons, as well as a multitude of other problems relating to the musculoskeletal system. It can also be used to help promote healing in soft tissues and can be used to improve the appearance of certain body areas.

Today, there is technology that allows us to extract it by collecting a blood sample from the patient where it is later placed in a centrifuge. This allows the PRP to be extracted and later delivered to the injured area to provide a more youthful appearance in other body areas such as the hand, face, and more.

Adipose Derived Stem Cells: ADSC Injections

ADSC also known as adipose derived stem cells are stem cells contained within the body’s fat that help produce collagen, additional fat cells, as well as blood vessels to help heal an injured area. ADSC are gathered through a proprietary method from fat that has been removed from the patient before any fat grafting occurs.

How do ADSC and PRP Injections Help?

Once injected into the skin, adipose derived stem cells and platelet rich plasma will accelerate the normal healing process via new collagen formation at the injected area. ADSC and PRP injections are bioactive stimulators, not a filler, and they will increase collagen which causes the skin to thicken after the first treatment.

Platelet-rich Plasma (PRP) injections are effective for treating:

  • Eye area
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Improvement in skin tone and texture
  • Full face rejuvenation
  • Décolletage
  • Dull dry skin
  • Back of hands

The most exciting feature about PRP injections is that it is your body’s own plasma. Nothing artificial, nothing modified, and therefore it’s 100% safe. It’s the most natural way of rejuvenating.

ADSC and PRP injections are usually combined with other treatments offered by Dr. Escobedo such as:

  • Fat grafting to the face, buttocks, breast, and hands
  • Vaser lipo
  • Smart lipo
  • UltraPulse

Note: in most cases, patients will require multiple treatment sessions.
