Botox, Dysport, and Xeomin Injections Near Me Austin TX

Botox Treatment

Botox is an FDA approved neuromodulator that relaxes muscles in the face to help improve their appearance. Used mainly to improve the look of frown lines, it’s injected into the muscles and improves the appearance of people 18 – 65 years old for a short period of time.

Botox is approved for use as a treatment for crow’s feet, neck, chest, forehead lines, and hyperhidrosis since hitting the US market in 2002. Results from this treatment usually last for 3 to 4 months.

Xeomin Treatment

Xeomin is an FDA approved medication that relaxes muscles that cause wrinkles on the face. Like Botox, it is injected into the muscles and improves the look of frown lines for people aged 18 to 65 for a short period of time.

Xeomin Cosmetic is also an approved neuromodulator that temporarily alters the impulses to muscles. It is considered the “naked” neuromodulator since it doesn’t feature any additions of additives in comparison to Botox. Despite that, it is an effective option for those looking to reduce the appearance of fine lines.

It also doesn’t need to be refrigerated prior to application, making it easier for storage and transportation.

Dysport™ Injections

Dysport™ is an FDA approved prescription injection that provides improvements to frown lines for people who are less than 65 years old. Manufactured by Medicis, it was approved in 2009 to treat forehead wrinkles as well as frown lines.

This treatment is made from the same neuromodulator as Botox (botulinum toxin type A) and has been in use interchangeably. In comparison to Botox, Dysport™ features a smaller protein with the injections taking effect much quicker in comparison. The diffusion takes effect usually within 1 or 2 days and tends to last up to a year, with 6 months being the average.

Dysport™ treatment should not be used if you are allergic to any of the ingredients including cow’s milk protein, had a skin infection around the injection site, or have had an allergy to botulinum toxin including Myobloc® or Botox®.
